Our little gymnast

At the beginning of February, our MOPS group had a playdate at a local gymnastic place for free play, and Jocelyn LOVED it! The only way I got any good pictures was when I took video and cut clips to photo files since Jocelyn was in constant motion and since the floor I was standing on was springy ... not conducive to much more than blurry shots!

Any guesses about her favorite part? Yep, she dug the trampoline! But she did do other things too, I promise (and the proof is below).

And some fun video (note her imitating the other girl's fall at the end!)

Oh, and I can't leave out some of the best pics. You see, we came home and ate lunch, and then Jocelyn took her nap. She woke up and played a little in her room (which is typical), and then ...

I guess it wore her out! After a longer than usual afternoon nap, she passed out AGAIN on the floor by the door for about another hour. And she was sleeping hard enough that I managed to get these shots of her!

Valentine's Day at the Cupcake Shoppe

On Valentine's Day, the Cupcake Shoppe in Raleigh (introduced to me by sweet friends Heather and Jennifer) had free samples, so we headed there for the first time!

At first Jocelyn didn't quite understand (though Lee clearly did!)...

...but she caught on in no time.

And then decided the floor was fun!

The weather was nice (and balloons are fun!), so we sat outside for a bit...

...and then went for a walk to find more balloons (or, in Jocelyn's words, "boon-boon")!

It was definitely a hit! Thanks, Jennifer, for posting the details about the samples on your Facebook status, because we wouldn't have known about it otherwise!

Slideshow to the right

(Disclaimer: for those of you reading this via my feed on Facebook, it will make no sense. I'm explaining something that's on the right side of my blog page, so hop over there if you want to understand this! It's dinglefest.blogspot.com - enjoy!)

I usually have the slideshow on the right as our most recent album. In other words, typically it would be our February 2009 or March 2009 pictures there. A month or so ago I switched it to our wedding pics. I'll probably switch back to current pics when Robbie arrives (20 days 'til my due date), but I'm liking the stroll down memory lane.

March snow pictures...

Jocelyn LOVES the snow! I can't remember if I mentioned this in our last snow post, but it's tough to tell whether she's being disagreeable or just commenting on the weather on snow days because both "snow" and "no" sound the same coming from our two-year-old! I think my favorite comment from her during our March snow was, "Mommy, mere ih no," which translates to, "Mommy, come here in the snow!" She wanted to play in it, but not by herself! So precious! (And, yes, Mommy did "meer ih no" when asked!) And now more pictures than you probably want to see, but I'm terrible at narrowing them down...

Don't you hate it when icicles stick to your gloves?

Lovin' Jocelyn's prayers

Today when we prayed before her nap, here's what Jocelyn wanted to pray for (in her own words):
  • paper towels
  • cuddling
  • walking
  • falling
  • more falling
  • more walking
  • more falling
  • Baby Leiana and Aunt Jenelle (which sounded more like "baby a and aw neh")
  • leaves
  • hiding
  • trees
  • eggs
  • cheese
  • baby doll
  • baby doll's nose
  • baby doll's eyes
  • baby doll's hair
  • baby doll's shoe
  • baby doll's other shoe
  • baby doll's skirt
  • baby doll's shirt
  • flowers
  • Mommy
  • sleep
  • dancing

I do think these long prayers are often rooted in the desire to stall naptime as long as possible, but I let her run with it because it's sweet.
