Quick RA update
/
In earlier posts here and here, I talked about the treatment options for my rheumatoid arthritis, particularly while breastfeeding. Well, as a quick update, we're at Plan C now. On Wednesday afternoon I'll go to the infusion center for my first IV of Remicade. There have been studies done that show that it doesn't enter breastmilk, so we're good to go on that front. I'll have my first infusion this week, then another in two weeks, and another in six weeks. After that, the plan is to go every eight weeks. Each infusion will probably take a least two hours, and the first few will be longer because they'll need me to hang around for a while to make sure I don't have any post-infusion reactions. We're optimistic and hopeful: optimistic because, even if it isn't an effective treatment for me, being pessimistic sure wouldn't be fun; hopeful because our hope isn't based on our present circumstances, our health, or the sucess of our treatments. Praise God that our hope is certain in Him and that He never fails!
