Jocelyn's new do

To follow up the post of my new haircut yesterday, here are the pictures of Jocelyn's first haircut. Ever. Yep, she's two-and-a-half years old. But she never had much hair, so I didn't cut it. But it is AMAZING how much neater and nicer it looks now ... I should have done it much sooner!

Oh, and I'm not sure why she's just in panties. And, yes, she does have a fortune cookie in her hand. Halfway through the haircut she decided she was done; the fortune cookie got us the rest of the way through it!

Quick RA update

In earlier posts here and here, I talked about the treatment options for my rheumatoid arthritis, particularly while breastfeeding. Well, as a quick update, we're at Plan C now. On Wednesday afternoon I'll go to the infusion center for my first IV of Remicade. There have been studies done that show that it doesn't enter breastmilk, so we're good to go on that front. I'll have my first infusion this week, then another in two weeks, and another in six weeks. After that, the plan is to go every eight weeks. Each infusion will probably take a least two hours, and the first few will be longer because they'll need me to hang around for a while to make sure I don't have any post-infusion reactions. We're optimistic and hopeful: optimistic because, even if it isn't an effective treatment for me, being pessimistic sure wouldn't be fun; hopeful because our hope isn't based on our present circumstances, our health, or the sucess of our treatments. Praise God that our hope is certain in Him and that He never fails!

Our yard dweller...

This sweet and incredibly friendly kitten showed up about a month ago. And I, umm, fed it once or twice. So it stayed. And now we feed it regularly. But I'm not a crazy cat lady. No, not me. We just have three inside and one in the yard. And the one in the yard isn't ours because it's against our homeowner's association rules to have outdoor pets that aren't contained to your yard. Thus the title of this post: she is not our kitten; she is merely our yard dweller. I mean, you can't be held responsible for what creatures dwell in your yard, can you? And I'll take this over the snakes that have been cropping up in the yards of many of my Raleigh friends!

Jocelyn has named her Kitten. Original, eh? Which brings to mind the following quote from "The Princess Bride" - the book, not the movie: "The horse’s name was 'Horse' (Buttercup was never long on imagination)."

Anyway, here she is!

The new do

I promised these pictures ages ago, but my memory card wasn't reading properly (which I think might have been a problem with the computer rather than the card, but either way it's fixed now!) so I couldn't post anything. Sorry for the delay!

Here are some recent pictues to serve as my "before" pics:
